About Blair Howard:
Hi Folks. My name is Blair Howard. I am an expatriate Englishman living in these United States for just about 32 years. During that time I have come to love this country, and its people. Well, most of them. I am not, however, totally happy with some of the more prominent members of the American populace, especially those we're seeing on TV these days, and in Washington.
Always a happy and avid TV viewer, I have watched the news channels with interest every single day during my time here in the U.S. At first, it was NBC, then CBS, then ABC and lately I've been taking in all the above plus Fox News and CNN. Oh, and BBC World News, of course. And I have to tell you that, at least in this Englishman’s opinion, it aint such a wonderful world, the world of TV news, that is.
Haven't you noticed what's going on? TV news is now more about entertainment than it is current affairs, and what little news there is biased, either one way or the other. And the personalities... wow. What a self-satisfied, self-aggrandizing, narcissistic bunch they are. Well, Folks, I have lost count of the number of times I've thought about writing to those so-called talking heads, but never could quite figure out how to get their attention. And what if I did get their attention, what good would it do? So, here we are. This is one Englishman's effort to get a word in edgeways.
